<description>Factors Related to Employee Satisfaction:A case study in Apparel Industries in Kurunegala District
De Silva, NHAL; Panahatipola, PMOP
Job satisfaction reflects the extent to which people find gratification or fullfilment in their &#13;
work. Employees who have higher job satisfaction are usually less absent, less likely to leave, more &#13;
productive, more likely to display organizational commitment, and more likely to be satisfied with &#13;
their lives. The main objective of this research was to find the factors related to employees Job &#13;
satisfaction from selected Apparel industry in Kurunegala District. Financial, Non-Financial, &#13;
Fringe Benefit and other general factors such as Gender, Age, Experience, and Qualification were &#13;
considered as the independent variables which affected to the dependent variable Job Satisfaction &#13;
and the corresponding data were collected using a questionnaire. 320 data were collected from 6 &#13;
different Garment Factories, 50 from each, which were located in Kurunegala District under the &#13;
convenience sampling method. Ordinal Logistic Regression was used to analyse the data and to find &#13;
the factors related to job Satisfaction. According to the analysis, independent variables under the &#13;
general factors Gender, Age, Experience, and Qualification have no significant effect towards the &#13;
job satisfaction. The Employee Satisfaction is strongly affected by the Financial, Non-Financial &#13;
and Fringe Benefit factors. In conclusion, Financial, Non-Financial, Fringe Benefit factors are &#13;
found to be the most affected factors to the Employee Satisfaction of Apparel Industries in &#13;
Kurunegala District.

ppliers mainly affect the efficiency. This study was carried out to measure the efficiency of &#13;
suppliers in indirect procurement in a tyre manufacturing company Data Envelope Analysis;&#13;
graphical methods were used to evaluate the supplier efficiency by considering their relative &#13;
efficiencies. A sample of 10 suppliers from the palate category are inspected to analyse the delivery &#13;
status, quality of the delivery products, demand from the plant and the cost which was spent for &#13;
their product. According to the result of graphical analysis suppliers B and J are the best practices &#13;
in the market. With respect to the multiplier analysis and Data Envelope Analysis (DEA), suppliers &#13;
B, D, E and J are most efficiency suppliers in the market. For all the methods, suppliers F and G &#13;
are indicated as the poor efficiency suppliers in the market related to the tyre manufacturing &#13;
company.

<title>Time Series Forcasting And Comparison Using Neural Networks: A Study on Future Cryptocurrency values And Real Currencies</title>

<description>Time Series Forcasting And Comparison Using Neural Networks: A Study on Future Cryptocurrency values And Real Currencies
Jayakody KGUD; Panahatipola PMOP; Dahanayaka SD
Cryptocurrency is a type of currency available only in digital form, not in physical (such as&#13;
banknote and coins). There are many uses of cryptocurrencies. The most well-known benefit is their&#13;
ability to send and receive payments at a low cost and at a high speed. Cryptocurrencies, such as&#13;
bitcoin, act as a censorship-resistant alternative store of wealth that only the individual with the&#13;
privet keys to the wallet has access to. Hence, no personal bitcoin wallet can ever be frozen by the&#13;
authorities. Likewise, it is now possible to travel the world by spending cryptocurrencies. As this is&#13;
an international business all cryptocurrency transactions are done by using US dollars and the&#13;
currency market is a typical area that presents time-series data and many researchers study on it&#13;
and proposed various models. Many time-series prediction algorithms have shown their&#13;
electiveness in practice. The most common algorithms now are based on Recurrent Neural&#13;
Networks (RNN), as well as its special type Long-Short-Term- Memory (LSTM) and Gated&#13;
Recurrent Unit (GRU). The aim of this study is to forecast and compare cryptocurrencies such as&#13;
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple and also real currencies such as Australian dollars, Euro all&#13;
against US dollars using recurrent neural network.

<title>Reducing the Importers Waiting Time in Declarations Directorate Branch at Sri Lanka Customs</title>
<link>http://repository.wyb.ac.lk/handle/1/3547</link>
<description>Reducing the Importers Waiting Time in Declarations Directorate Branch at Sri Lanka Customs
Bandara BMSGR; Aponsu GMLM
Sri Lanka Customs is one of the oldest Customs administration in the world. It is a non –&#13;
ministerial government department, which performs the duties and other taxes and levies in Sri&#13;
Lanka. D Branch of Declarations Directorate is one of the main branches in Customs. The&#13;
customers who enter the D Branch have to wait for a long time to get the service. Therefore large&#13;
queue length can be seen in the Declarations branch. The main objective of this study was to reduce&#13;
the importers waiting time in counters in Sri Lanka Customs ‘D’ Branch using Queuing theory.&#13;
The Arena package was used for the analysis. There were two service counters at the D Branch and&#13;
the arrival rate of customers, service rate, length of queue, idle time and probability of waiting of&#13;
customers in the queue were calculated for the existing two branches. Then the same parameters&#13;
were calculated by introducing another service counter and it was found that the length of the&#13;
queue and waiting time of customers can be reduced by the system with three service counters.
