dc.description.abstract Water currently, a very scarce resource and with the growth of the population, it is now becoming worse. In Sri Lanka, the scarcity is not much serious but it can be a problem in the near future. Sri Lanka is playing a main role in the manufacturing sector and Biyagama Export Processing Zone is one of the largest families, which contributes to the export market of Sri Lanka. Water is one of the main resources heavily used in the manufacturing sector. This study carried out to identify the factors, which affect the implementation of the circular water economy in the zone. The circular economy is a popular trend in sustainable development and it has been identified as a good practice for the manufacturing industries. Several statistical analysis techniques were proceeded to identify the relationship between the dependent and the independent variables. The study recognizes organizational culture, finance, technology & technical expertise and government support & policies as factors affecting the implementation of the circular water economy. Among the identified factors, technology and technical expertise have been revealed as a significant factor, which can have an emotional impact on such an establishment. Primary data were used for the analysis and the data were collected using a questionnaire. Based on findings, practical implications were discussed and recommendations were made to adopt effective circular water economies in manufacturing industries, in Sri Lanka. en_US
