dc.description.abstract Like elsewhere across the globe Cricket became one of the most popular games in Sri Lanka. However, recently there is a significant drop in the performance of Sri Lankan cricket team especially in One-Day International cricket due to many reasons, for instance, lack of experience and exposure with the other teams of the present players. This leads the necessity of studying the abilities of the player in the team to select the best set of players against the opponent team. Therefore, the study attempted to determine the present players’ performance and other factors which affect the team outcome in ODI matches. The details of the top five bowlers and batsmen of Sri Lankan cricket team from year 2014 to 2018 were collected from the respective website. By expressing the number of innings that batsman played as the lifespan, the survival ability of batsmen analyzed from the Kaplan-Meier Estimators. Then the Dominance Factor was calculated to find probability of getting consecutive wickets by the bowler. Further binary logistic regression was fitted to identify the factors that affect the outcome of a match. The results reveal that survival ability of Niroshan and Mathews much higher than Chandimal, Kusal and Tharanga. Furthermore, Chameera was the bowler who has the highest chance of getting consecutive wickets. Opponent team, average run per six balls, balls face by open batsmen, and runs per six balls given to the opponent team at first 20 overs significantly impact the winning chance of the Sri Lankan team. The details help to get an idea about the performance of the players and the factors to be considered to enhance the chance of winning a match. en_US
