dc.description.abstract The digital image, especially biometric image is important in our day to day work. The main challenging issue is the security of these Biometric images. There is no perfect information security method but only a better method. In this paper we propose biometric image encryption method, using visual cryptography and elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). Here, we are using visual cryptography for creating two shares-one share is used as key of the encryption algorithm and the other share is converted to cipher image by applying ECC technique. After encrypting these two shares, we convert two shares into one image. Experimental results satisfy usual security analysis method and encryption technique has high efficiency. Finally, we demonstrate that the proposed encryption algorithm is advantageous in several different aspects including efficiency, security, and flexibility. en_US
