Abstract:
At present with the development of mass customization, the garment manufacturing process is
required to be optimized to improve the quality of its outputs. The sustainable production concept
can play a significant role in meeting the customer demand with quality outputs while deriving the
benefits of social, environmental, and economic therein. Since there is a problem of high reworks
due to quality rejections, the objective of the present study was established to find out how to
maintain sustainable production while improving the quality of garments. The scope of this study
was limited to the social, environmental, and economic aspects of sustainable production in a
purposively selected garment manufacturer. The secondary data were used to measure the
variables of research model. The data were analyzed to check the relationship among the variables
and mediating effect using SPSS and SPSS PROCESS v3.3 respectively. The results highlighted
that there is a strong effect of quality of garments in maintaining sustainable production in the
selected manufacturer in the apparel industry. Finally, the study recommends managerial
implications and directions for future researchers.
